A representative of the PEF Department of Information Technologies took part in the training that took place online on May 24-27, 2020 for the Ukrainian partners of the Erasmus+ Digital competence framework for Ukrainian teachers and other citizens (dComFra) project.

 

Project it is implemented by 15 organizations led by the Lithuanian Vytautas Magnus University, 9 partners are from Ukraine, 6 from the EU. Training was originally supposed to take place in person at Yuri Feďkovych National University in the city of Chernivtsi, Ukraine, on March 30 - April 2, 2020, however, due to Covid-19, it was moved online and to a later date in May. On behalf of CZU, John Phillip Sabou, MSc, PhD, presented on the topic Teaching media literacy and fact-checking to combat fake news.

The online training brought together 50 participants representing three Ukrainian universities – Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University – together with participants representing the Ukrainian Association of IT Professionals and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The training, led by researchers from EU universities, focused on the following topics:

  • Developing digital skills for non-IT students at VMU, Artūras Mickus, VMU, Lithuania
  • Teaching media literacy and fact-checking in the fight against fake news, John Sabou, ČZU, Czech Republic
  • Digital Learning @ CUAS, Center for Teaching and e-Learning Support, Marvin Hoffland, CUAS, Austria
  • Incorporating Online Pocket Labs into Teaching at CUAS, Christian Kreiter, CUAS, Austria
  • Pedagogical methods and basic elements for successful teaching/educational processes, Antonina Hammermüller, CUAS, Austria
  • Interactive learning activities in the Moodle learning environment, Teodora Chicioreanu, UPB CAMIS, Romania
  • Web 2.0 Tools for Teachers, Teodora Chicioreanu, UPB CAMIS, Romania
  • Strengthening educational seminars through the use of modern educational solutions, Alicja Pituła, PUC, Poland
