The traditional Diploma Seminar – scientific research workshop of KIT (23rd year), organized by the Department of Information Technologies PEF ČZU in Prague, due to the worsened pandemic situation, was unconventionally held on February 25, 2021 in remote mode via video conferences. The scientific seminar is attended annually by master's degree students who submit a diploma thesis in the current calendar year.

This year, due to the high participation of students, discussions took place in five committees consisting of members of the department and external experts. Each committee selected and awarded the three best works based on predetermined evaluation rules. In the framework of the individual sections, the quality work in the first three places was awarded with diplomas and by the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Ing. Martin Pelikán, Ph.D. awarded with an extraordinary scholarship. Several students received a "yellow card", which meant a consultation with the thesis supervisor regarding finishing the diploma thesis or postponing the SZZ.

At the seminar, they presented and defended their work as a whole 62 graduates of the department. One commission was again conceived as an English one, which was primarily intended for students of study programs taught in English. A total of 27 members of the department and representatives of practice worked and evaluated in the committees.

The event has been evaluated very positively by students for a long time, especially for the "presentation and defense in a clean manner" and the opportunity to consult and discuss the solved issue directly with experts from the department, practice and colleagues from various fields of study.

The department is looking forward to the fact that the next year will be held again in the premises of the Všeradice Castle Court on the same date, i.e. February 24, 2022.

The department would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the individual commissions, especially the external experts who actively participated in this event.
