During the first project year, the 12 regional pilots of the PoliRural project focused on examining the current situation of rural attractiveness in each pilot region, which was the first step of foresight (a process used in policy making). The pilot projects defined their mission and created information sheets describing the current situation in the regions and the expected results (available here). In all 12 pilot regions, regional stakeholder panels, which include political actors, rural populations and experts, have been established to support PoliRural experts in regional forecasting projects. So far, 350 stakeholders have participated in the work of the panels.
