Experts from the Department of Information Technologies lectured at a seminar for mayors and representatives of the Smart Village, which was focused on the development of municipalities in the Pilsen Region in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment.

 

The seminar was held in the premises of Plzeňské Prazdroje as part of the Regional Food Festival. A view of the issue in general and from the point of view of the department's projects, especially the Life Sciences 4.0 project, was presented by Ing. Jiří Vaněk and Ing Michal Stočes, who also brought examples of IoT instrumentation from a number of areas, e.g. sensors for agriculture or the environment. Doc. Karel Tomšík from the Department of Economics PEF ČZU in Prague then presented a paper on the topic The need for local economy in the countryside. The seminar also featured contributions from the Czech Center for Science and Society (Ing. Karel Charvát), the University of West Bohemia (Ing. Pavel Hájek, Ph.D.) and ARBERLAND REGio GmbH (Herbert Unnasch).
