CODECS was launched on 1 October 2022 and the main objective of this meeting, more than a year after its launch, was to provide an overview of its progress and to analyse the upcoming steps. The event also contributed to networking and strengthening cooperation between consortium partners.

CODECS project partners gathered at the General Assembly to reflect on the progress made and chart a course for the future of sustainable digitalization in agriculture.

The meeting began with inspiring presentations by Gianluca Brunori, CODECS project coordinator, and Angela Guarino, REA representative, outlining the mission and achievements of the CODECS project.

Furthermore, potential opportunities for synergies between CODECS and QuantiFarm were analyzed and the partners shared key insights on socio-ecological systems (SES), agricultural knowledge and innovation systems (AKIS) and process modeling, delving into how these frameworks shape the digitalization of agriculture.

The partner discussions focused on:

  • the costs and benefits of farm digitization, as well as strategies for enhancing knowledge exchange through virtual visits between laboratories.
  • policy environment and their crucial role in supporting digital innovation in agriculture.
  • Analysis of the current status of the project, next steps to be taken, and the needs of our Living Labs.
  • Exploring the CODECS digital platform, showcasing its integrated components and new features.

Finally, the organizers announced the date of the upcoming Knowledge Accelerator webinar, which will take place on February 6, 2025.

The team of researchers from KIT PEF is responsible for the work related to the development of a set of impact assessment tools - a multi-criteria evaluation tool. It also participates in the collection and processing of data to assess the economic benefits of digitalization and the mapping of digitalization processes on model farms.
