At the international conference EDULEARN, organized by IATED on 29-30 June 2025 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, representatives of the AGRITECH EU project, doc. Ing. Pavel Šimek, Ph.D., Ing. Eva Kánská, Ph.D. and doc. Ing. Jan Jarolímek, Ph.D., presented a professional contribution dedicated to the future of education in agriculture entitled Realization of European project AGRITECH EU.

The AGRITECH EU project aims to transform agricultural education through the integration of modern technologies and digital approaches. The aim is to create a European catalogue of modules for teaching digital agriculture intended for educational institutions, farmers and professionals in the agricultural sector. The project is coordinated by a consortium of universities, research institutions and companies from several European countries.

Thanks to this, students and professionals have access to modules covering areas such as data analysis and data management, IoT and sensors, cloud/edge computing, automation, robotics, sustainable farming methods, in the form of e-learning, face-to-face courses, workshops, or practical internships.

The EDULEARN conference is one of the leading European forums focused on educational innovation and technology. Every year it brings together hundreds of experts, academics, educators and technology specialists from all over the world.

The paper "Realisation of European project AGRITECH EU" presented the key milestones of the project so far — the creation of the module catalogue, coordination of the consortium, the basic concept of digital agriculture teaching and the planned impact on the education systems in the participating countries.

The presentation emphasized that the project not only responds to the technological and digital challenges of modern agriculture, but also to the need for qualified human capital who can meaningfully use and implement technologies in practice.

The participation of representatives of KIT PEF ČZU in Prague at the international conference underlines the university's active role in European research projects and innovative approaches to education. Thanks to the AGRITECH EU project, the possibility opens up for Czech educational programs to offer their students modern, digitally oriented courses that prepare them for real challenges in agriculture.

Digitalization of agriculture, precision agriculture, sustainable farming, and automation of modern “smart” farms are the trends that will shape the field in the coming years. AGRITECH EU can play a key role in ensuring that future graduates are both technologically and conceptually prepared.
