A group of IT staff members from the University of Thessaly paid a visit to the Department of Information Technologies at the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Department of Information and Communication Technologies CZU Prague within the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training in the week of 29 April 2024.
The delegation represented by Mr Dimitris Tsachalis, Mr Christos Tselias, and Dr Georgios Giannikis discussed with Dr Michal Stočes and Dr Miloš Ulman at the Department of Information Technologies the ongoing research projects, CZU Data Management Platform vision and architecture. Dr. Stočes toured the visitors around the IoT laboratory at the department.
Further, the guests met with a Department of Information and Communication Technologies team. Mr Ladislav Stach gave a high-level overview of the CZU IT landscape and network infrastructure. Mr Lukáš Babinský shared the experience of managing over 40,000 user identities and more than 2500 IT services. Mr Jan Svoboda and Mr Petr Cihelka presented their experience with in-house software development on Microsoft technologies.
Ultimately, the colleagues had an excursion to the CZU data centre on the campus. The visit organised by Mr Adam Vacek from the CZU International Relations Office has been essential to initiate collaboration between CZU and the University of Thessaly. Both teams have agreed on a reciprocal visit to the University of Thessaly soon.
