Subjects beyond the scope of the Study Plan (extra)

The chosen subjects will be entered in the index, they will appear in the official document about the completed subjects of the student Diploma Supplement. Of course, the student is obliged to complete the subject listed in the index.
It is also possible to enroll in a subject from other fields than the one for which it is primarily intended - see the brochure Study plans:

With the exception of the first semester of the 1st year, the student chooses other subjects from the recommended optional subjects for the major, or from the offer for other majors. Beyond this mandatory study plan, the student can choose other subjects from the offer of PEF, other faculties and departments of CZU. The subjects thus chosen become part of the student's study plan.

Web design (ETE60E)

Taught in: Year 2 | Field of study: PaE | Semester: winter | Syllabus

The aim of the course is primarily to point out the current possibilities that are used in the creation and operation of WWW presentations and WWW applications, including development trends. Students will learn about the HTML5 markup language, CSS properties, the rules of a properly accessible website, optimization for full-text search engines and other principles and methods used in creating a website. Students will gain deeper knowledge and an overview within individual sub-topics, which will be the theoretical basis for use in practice. After completing the course, students will not only be able to use the mentioned technologies effectively, but will also be able to make the right decisions when choosing the technology for a specific case. Students continuously work out a set of partially assigned tasks.

E-learning in corporate education (ETE59E)

The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the field of E-learning and the possibilities of its use for the purposes of corporate training of employees and customers. After completing this subject, the student should be able to independently create complex E-learning courses, prepare study materials, formulate an educational plan, evaluate the results of course participants and apply advanced E-learning techniques. This practical subject responds to the ever-evolving requirements for graduates in the field of modern technologies and helps to increase the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market.

E-Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ETEB1E)

Taught in: Year 2 | Field of study: PaA | Semester: summer | Syllabus

The subject is devoted to topics related to the planning, establishment and operation of electronic commerce. The individual topics of the lectures represent a selected area (technical, economic or legal) that relates to running an e-shop. The lectures do not aim to be exhaustive in terms of content, but form a cross-section of the given topic. The exercises are focused on your own work when setting up an online store. It is based on an open source platform, and after the end of the semester the project will be available for download and possible deployment. The basis is the preparation of your own e-shop. Business plan, analysis of the environment, analysis of own intention, determination of basic properties, implementation, graphic manual, site evaluation.

Data protection (ETE62E)

The course introduces students to the basic problems of logical and physical security of data, both stored in depositories and transmitted in networks. Students will also be introduced to the latest trends and technologies in the field of data security, and during the exercises they will have the opportunity to put the acquired theoretical knowledge to practical use.

Subjects beyond the scope of the Study Plan (extra)

Social Media (ETE68E)

Taught in: Year 2 | Field of study: PaE, PaA | Semester: summer | (other fields and years after consultation) | Syllabus

The course is intended primarily for students of economic and managerial fields (Business and Administration, Operations and Economics). It responds to the ever-evolving requirements for graduates in the field of modern technology and focuses on the dynamic field of social media and social networks in a wider context. A similar subject is not currently taught at the CZU in Prague, while the competences gained by completing this subject can be applied to many job positions. The aim of the subject is to develop students' knowledge and prepare them for the effective use of social media in the field of information and communication technologies with an emphasis on management and marketing. The subject creates prerequisites for the purposeful use of social media and related technologies in subsequent professional subjects with a focus on business practice. It helps increase the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market.

MS Excel - Advanced Techniques (ETE67E)

The basis of managerial control is effective data processing, which can be processed using many techniques and tools. The most frequently used tool in the private and public sector is Microsoft Excel, which offers its programming tool - macros - for advanced technicians. The graduate of the course will gain an overview of the possibilities of programming in MS Office and be able to use it for complex data processing and increase the productivity of data processing. Due to the demands of companies for this knowledge, the graduate's competitiveness on the labor market increases significantly. A similar subject is not currently taught at the CZU in Prague, while the competences gained by completing this subject can be applied to many job positions. The optional subject follows on from subjects in the first year in the field of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies, Internet Technologies) and expands students' knowledge and skills in the area of tools for advanced data processing in the environment of the most widespread SW package MS Office, especially in MS Excel using its programming tool - macro.

Graduates of the course will receive a certificate.

ETE66E Mobile Application Development (Android)

Taught in: Year 3 | Field of study: Informatics | Semester: winter | (other fields and years after consultation) | Syllabus

The subject deals with programming applications for the operating system Android from the very beginning. The Android Studio development environment and the JAVA programming language are taught. In addition, the teaching is supported by lectures by experts from practice and excursions to companies.
We recommend at least basic knowledge of programming, preferably object programming.

Graduates of the course will receive a certificate.

Computer Graphics (ETE65E)

Graduates will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of working with graphic formats, editing photos and creating modern graphic design of websites. Knowledge refers to the latest knowledge in the field of computer graphics and design. They understand the principles of creating graphics, they have a good command of the graphic editors Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. They have a clear awareness of the limits of their knowledge and an idea of the content of further study in this field of knowledge. They can use the acquired knowledge to obtain the relevant ECDL certificate.
