IoT devices from the Agritech EU project are already serving students
The first shipment of IoT devices purchased from grant funds within the Agritech EU project has already begun to be actively used in teaching at the Department of Information Technologies.
The first shipment of IoT devices purchased from grant funds under the Agritech EU project has already started to be actively used in teaching at the Department of Information Technologies. Students work with them during practical exercises, on semester projects and when preparing final theses.
The device is used, for example, to collect data from soil and climate sensors, monitor the movement of animals or monitor the environment. Their involvement in teaching allows students to work with real data and develop skills in Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Farming.
The acquisition of these technologies represents an important step towards the modernization of teaching and brings students closer to current trends in precision agriculture. The department plans to continue using them and expand them to include cooperation with the Bromil farm.
