Starting on January 14, 2025, a series of KIT undergraduate seminars will be held. The seminars are intended for all students who are working on the BP at KIT (completion date of SZZ studies May/June 2025) and who have not already completed participation in the seminar.
The seminar will be held in the PEF meeting room - E155 and E209.
BP seminars take place as morning (9:00 – 12:00) or afternoon (1:00 – 4:00 p.m.) events. Students apply for any available seminar date. The seminar is a mandatory part of the credit for WS in the 3rd year for students who are working on BP at KIT. The following criteria are evaluated at the seminar:
· Objective of work
· Methodology
· Content and contribution of work
· Conclusions and recommendations
· Presentation
Do not underestimate the work and its presentation, in case of unconvincing results, the supervisor or the committee will recommend postponing the submission of the work and SZZ (no credit). This decision will be conditional on the awarding of a yellow or red card.
A yellow card means that the SZZ for the given student and the granting of credit for BP No. 3 in this academic year is at the discretion of the supervisor.
A red card means that the committee recommends postponing the SZZ and the credit for BP No. 3 to the next academic year (reason: the student did not withdraw, did not defend the work, did not yet start work on the BP, the content of the work does not match the assignment, etc.)
The aim of the seminar is to present and defend the purpose of the work and the achieved or planned results of the solution (of course, it is assumed that the work is completed or in the final stage of processing). Students will try to defend BP in front of a committee (similar to SZZ), the comments of teachers and colleagues can then be incorporated into BP.
It is possible to register for the seminar from December 16, 2024. The deadline for applications is January 7, 2025. Your active participation is expected for the entire duration of one of the sections (morning or afternoon). The time allowance for the student's defense is 10 minutes, of which 5 minutes are for the presentation.
In case of a small number of students registered in one section, the students will be moved to another section and will be informed by e-mail.
For your questions and requests for additional information, please contact your supervisor.
