From June 10 to 14, 2019, the Department of Information Technologies implemented a professional program of a study visit of twelve delegates from Uzbekistan as part of the National Water Resources Management project. The professional part of the weekly program consisted of lectures, visits to professional institutions and discussions focused on the current state of the use of irrigation, land reclamation and flood control measures in the Czech Republic with an emphasis on modern information and communication technologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the first day of the visit to the university, Mr. Sohibjon Akramov, the representative of the Swiss Embassy in Tashkent, spoke for the delegates, who informed about the results and goals of the project, and Mr. Rustam Karshiev, the representative of the Uzbek Ministry of Water Resources, who presented the current problems associated with the use of water in Uzbek agriculture . The guests also included the vice-rector for research and innovation of the Tashkent University of Irrigation and Reclamation (TIIAME), representatives of the Tashkent Agricultural University, senior staff of the regional water authority, farmers and the project manager.<\/p>\n

The delegates listened to a series of invited lectures by Czech experts from state administration, practice and research: Ing. Jakub Konop\u00e1sek, Ph.D. (Ministry of Agriculture), Mr. Marek Musil and Ing. Zbyn\u011bk K\u0159iv\u00e1nek (Lesprojekt, s.r.o.), doc. Ing. Michal Kur\u00e1\u017e, Ph.D. (Faculty of the Environment CZU, Department of Water Management and Environmental Modeling) and Ing. Jan Pavl\u00edk (Faculty of Business Economics at CZU, Department of Information Technologies). The group viewed the facilities of the Laboratory for the Study of Human Behavior (HUBRU) and the IoT and Virtual Reality Laboratory. Doc. Ing. Martin Pol\u00e1k, Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering of the Technical Faculty of CZU took the participants through the background of the laboratory for research on hydromechanical turbines and pumps.<\/p>\n

In the following days, the delegates visited Research Institute of Land Reclamation and Protection in Prague Zbraslav<\/a>, where they learned about the history and current research of agricultural drainage and irrigation in the conditions of the Czech Republic. At the lecture of Ing. The group learned details about the monitoring of water courses and the function of the Vltava Cascade from Tereza Horej\u0161ov\u00e1 from the state enterprise Povod\u00ed Vltava. Discussion with RNDr. Pavle Pun\u010doch\u00e1\u0159, CSc., representative of the Water Management Section of the MoZ, explained to the participants the current way of managing water management at the national and local level and brought interesting comparisons with the situation in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

The program of visits to professional institutions was completed by excursions to the Research Institute of Water Management TG Masaryk in Prague 6 Podbab\u00e1 (RNDr. Tom\u00e1\u0161 Hrdinka, Ph.D.) and the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute in Prague Komo\u0159any (RNDr. Jan Da\u0148helka, Ph.D.). An interesting point of the program was also an excursion to the Berry servis s.r.o. farm in B\u0159e\u017eany II, where the participants were welcomed by Ing. Lubo\u0161 Pokorn\u00fd, who presented the irrigation system for more than 30 hectares of land and showed the harvesting and processing procedures of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.<\/p>\n

The culmination of the delegation's visit was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague and the University of Agriculture in Tashkent.
