As part of the graduate seminar in V\u0161eradice, the third year of the student competition in application prototyping on a given topic took place \u2013 Hackathon V\u0161eradice 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The entire event (Graduate Seminar and Hackathon) was held with the support of Concur, which donated valuable prizes. <\/strong>Other prizes were provided by the Faculty of Operational Economics of the CZU in Prague, the Department of Information Technologies and other partners of the event. PEF \u010cZU in Prague also rewarded the winning teams with an extraordinary scholarship.<\/p>\n

A total of 5 teams participated in the competition, creating prototypes of mobile applications on the topic Use of ICT to support education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The topic was announced at the launch. All teams immediately started analyzing and designing their applications. They changed their mind about the topic, divided the work and started developing their prototypes. The task was to create not only the application design itself, but also usage scenarios and present everything at the end of the event.<\/p>\n

The final presentation was evaluated by an expert committee consisting of representatives of Concur, the organizers, the head of the Department of Information Technologies and the dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. The students themselves took part in the evaluation - members of individual teams who could evaluate the work of their colleagues.<\/p>\n

Students from abroad who attend the English Informatics course also participated. Their presentation took place in English. Despite a certain language barrier, they eventually turned their participation into a great success and their prototype was ranked second.<\/p>\n

In the end, the team named took first place AppVenture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And what ideas were created as part of the Hackathon?<\/h2>\n

Some students had interesting ideas and solutions, while others had more elaborate prototypes. It was evaluated in several categories, which included the presentation itself, the prototype as well as the overall idea and usage scenario. The winning team was able to combine both an elaborate prototype and a good idea and description of the solution.<\/p>\n

5th - 4th place: DreamTeam<\/h3>\n

An intuitive iOS application for students to get the most up-to-date information from the University. The application offers a timetable with navigation to the classroom, E-learning videos, news from the organizational agricultural newspaper iZUN. Furthermore, an overview of events at the \u010cZU, the menu, the status of ISIC and public transport connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Application Attendance at CZU<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main function of the proposed application is to record attendance at lectures and exercises. On the basis of the statistics, students receive points that they can use in the official CZU e-shop for e.g. scripts and other teaching aids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The designed application is used for education in the field of IT security. The app works like a game where you collect points for hacking and similar activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
