Ing. Vojt\u011bch Nov\u00e1k, Ph.D., from KIT PEF \u010cZU in Prague contributed with his leadership to the successful completion of the 5th annual Hackathon of the Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 Region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On October 16, 2025<\/strong> on Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9<\/strong> already carried out 5th year of the Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 Region Hackathon<\/strong>. The competition has traditionally focused on creating application designs over open data<\/strong> \u2013 this time from the Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 Region and the National Open Data Catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional leadership and innovation support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

He played a significant role in the organization and professional accompanying program. Ing. Vojt\u011bch Nov\u00e1k, Ph.D.<\/strong> from Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Economics, CZU in Prague<\/strong>. With his experience in the field data analytics, application development and open data technologies<\/strong> contributed to setting up the professional part of the competition and provided consultations to the competition teams in the preparation of their projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ing. Nov\u00e1k also worked as mentor and juror<\/strong>, helping the contestants develop ideas with a real impact on regional governance and improving the lives of residents. His approach combines practical knowledge and academic background<\/strong> was highly rated by the participants and significantly contributed to the overall quality of the projects presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student creativity and projects with real benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They participated in the hackathon dozens of high school and university students from all over the Czech Republic<\/strong>, who created in a single day functional application designs<\/strong> using open data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner was the team teddy bears<\/strong> that Secondary school and secondary school Dvur Kralove nad Labem<\/strong> with the application KompaZ \u2013 a guide in crisis situations<\/strong>. The team came in second place Educa-perhe<\/strong> from EDUCA Pardubice \u2013 Secondary vocational schools, sro.<\/strong>, who presented the application proposal for simplifying housing selection<\/strong>. The third place went to the team Ivan Panuska<\/strong> that Secondary industrial schools of electrical engineering and higher vocational schools in Pardubice<\/strong> with the project Lifely<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooperation between the region and academia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The hackathon took place under the auspices of the Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 Region and the Faculty of Informatics and Management of the University of Prague<\/strong>, which has long supported the development of open data and digital skills of students. The participation of Ing. Vojt\u011bch Nov\u00e1k is evidenced by close cooperation between universities and regional institutions<\/strong>, which is key to the development of innovations and modern public administration solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
