Staff from the Department of Information Technology at the PEF installed sensors and, thanks to a smart orchard management system, modern digital technologies are being tested here that can change the future of fruit growing in Europe. This project, funded by the\u00a0<strong>Horizon Europe<\/strong>\u00a0connects digitalization with sustainable agriculture and brings modern solutions directly into practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will be installed on the farm&nbsp;<strong>sensors and climate stations<\/strong>, which will monitor soil and climate conditions in real time. Based on this data, a system will be created for&nbsp;<strong>smart orchard management<\/strong>, which will allow farmers to better plan irrigation, fertilization, and frost protection and optimize the care of individual parts of the orchard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bromil demo farm is involved in the so-called\u00a0<strong>Living Labu - Automation of Orchard Management<\/strong>, which brings together researchers, farmers and digitalisation experts.
