Members of the PEF Department of Information Technology actively participated in the prestigious Sorghum in the 21st Century conference held in Montpellier, a French university city, in June.

The members of the department presented a total of three interesting contributions that reflect the results of research in the areas of 3D computer vision, agricultural modeling and simulations, and work with genebanks.

The conference offered a rich program that included not only lectures and presentations, but also discussions and other effective meetings. Our members actively contributed to these discussions and presented their knowledge in the field of information technology for agriculture. The contributions were warmly received and sparked a subsequent debate among experts and conference participants.

During the trip to the conference, the educators visited the research institute INRAe (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment), which is known for its research in the field of agriculture and the environment. As part of this visit, important meetings were held regarding the development of the ČZU Data Platform and the possibility of using the PHIS phenotyping information system. These meetings allowed our members to gain a deeper understanding of current trends and challenges in the field of data processing and information systems for crop phenotyping.

Participating in this conference and visiting the INRAe Institute are significant steps in strengthening cooperation between the Department of Information Technologies PEF CZU in Prague and the international scientific community.
