On February 25, 2016, in the spirit of a long-standing tradition, the Department of Information Technologies PEF ČZU in Prague organized the 18th year of the department's graduate seminar. The scientific seminar is attended annually by master's degree students who submit a diploma thesis in the current calendar year.

After the previous very successful experience with the surroundings of the Všeradice Castle, this year's event was again held in these premises. The castle courtyard not only provided seminar rooms for meetings, but also offered gallery space with an exhibition of paintings, an exposition of the museum of Magdalena Dobromila Rettigová and a restaurant with a brewery (Všerad beer).

The negotiations took place in four sections, which were managed by expert commissions consisting of 5 to 6 members of the department and external experts. Each committee selected and awarded the three best works based on the established evaluation rules. In addition to diplomas, the award-winning students also received valuable non-material prizes donated by the department, the Faculty of Operational Economics and the partners of the event.

At the seminar, 75 graduates of the department presented and defended their work, other students (from other SZZ terms) participated as a professional audience. Commission No. 1 was conceived as English, because the vast majority of students in this commission presented their work results in English in accordance with their field of study. A total of 25 department members and practice representatives worked and evaluated the committees. The seminar ended with a ceremonial announcement of the best works and a social gathering in the premises of the restaurant and brewery. He attended the announcement personally, the PEF dean presented diplomas and awards.

The event has been evaluated very positively by students for a long time, especially for the possibility of "presentation and defense in the open" and the possibility to consult and discuss the solved issue directly with experts from the department, practice and colleagues from various fields of study.

As part of the seminar, as a separate professional section No. 5, the 1st year of the application prototyping competition Hackathon 2016 was organized, in which 5 student teams participated. Detailed information in separate report to this event.

The department expects to organize the 19th year again in the premises of the Všeradice Castle on the same date.
