On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, a lecture was held from the Series of lectures by practitioners on the topic of Enterprise Design Thinking. The event was organized in cooperation with IBM and the Department of Information Technologies PEF ČZU in Prague. Due to the enormous interest, the lecture had to be moved to a lecture hall with a capacity of approximately 240 seats.

Jan Louda, working at IBM in the position of Design Thinking Co Creator, came to the university to share his knowledge and experience in this area with students of selected professional wp PEF ČZU in Prague.

Students learned about the proposal of Design Thinking - solutions for users from the point of view of using methodologies focused on the person himself. And one of the methodologies used is a proven methodology - Enterprise Design Thinking.

The lecture was conceived as a workshop where students tried to gain practical experience from the Enterprise Design Thinking methodology, which was developed and used at IBM. Students had the opportunity to decide between using a model situation from Enterprise Design Thinking, which takes into account various artifacts in business design thinking, or they had the opportunity to create their own solution.

The aim of the lecture was to share with the students individual parts of the Enterprise Design Thinking methodology, such as:

  • user understanding;
  • defining personality;
  • creating an empathy map;
  • defining the scenario and needs;
  • playback.

Furthermore, students were shown model situations of using Enterprise Design Thinking in practice. At the end of the lecture, there were also interesting discussions with students who deepened their existing knowledge in this area.

wp PEF ČZU in Prague plans to establish further cooperation and deepen mutual relations in the form of follow-up lecture activities, cooperation in the field of BP and DP, etc.
