Information and communication technologies in the agriculture of the Czech Republic – survey 2021

News

In the spring period of March – April 2021, an online questionnaire survey of the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) in agricultural production enterprises was conducted, which included the territory of the entire Czech Republic.

The mentioned ICT issue was expanded to include the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on this area. The aim was to analyze the development and quality of internet connectivity in rural regions (the vast majority of business entities operate here), the provision of technical and software equipment, the use of modern technologies (structure, intensity) and further to determine current development trends (use of sensors, etc.).

This survey follows on from the surveys carried out in previous years, which have been carried out periodically since 1999.

Questionnaires from more than 700 companies were thus obtained, which are currently being processed and evaluated. In September, the accumulated interesting outputs will be presented on the AGRIS portal.

This non-commercial research is carried out by the Department of Information Technologies of the Faculty of Operational Economics of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague as part of a long-term concept of research activity.
