The Department of Information Technologies is organizing the 4th annual hackathon for CZU students. There will be a competition in prototyping applications using IoT within the university campus.

 

What will it be about?

The theme of the 4th year is:

"IoT and smart CZU"

As part of the hackathon, there will be competition in prototyping (draft) applications on the topic of use of the Internet of Things for the "smart campus" of CZU. They will compete 3-person teams. The main topic will be the search for the use of IoT technologies for the ČZU campus, which will benefit both students and the university as a whole.    

When and where? 

The event takes place April 2-3 2019 on PEF in the room D207.

How it will be?

After the launch, there will be several professional lectures on IoT sensors and application prototyping. Find out what they are possibilities of sensor technology, what can be embedded, how to collect data, etc. You will also learn something about the design of the application and prototyping. Work on the prototypes will begin at 10 o'clock. The whole room will be available D207 and possibly other small rooms. Some will also be provided refreshment in the form of fruit, baguettes, coffee, tea and other drinks will be available all the time. Several will be available throughout the day mentors, who will help and advise you. The first day will end at 10 p.m. and continue the second day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Subsequently, presentations of the designed prototypes will take place before a panel of experts. She will then select the 3 best teams to be awarded.  

What will the winnings be? 

The proposed prototypes will then be evaluated by an expert jury made up of representatives of wp, the faculty, companies and others. They are competing for non-material prizes, extraordinary scholarships,  vouchers to Alza from the company SAP Concur, or trip at the conference IoT Tech Expo in Amsterdam. In addition, everyone will gain valuable experience, contacts and the possibility of establishing further cooperation with the faculty or involved companies. 

Who is the event for?

Hackathon is for all students of CZU, all faculties and disciplines. Teams of 3 compete.
