The Department of Information Technologies will once again organize a separate series of professional lectures on current topics in the field of Information and Communication Technologies in the 2019/2020 academic year. Of the expected eight lectures offered, two will be in English (for students of English majors and other interested parties). The cycle of lectures will take place in LS (period February to April).

 
In accordance with the current regulations on the cancellation of contact teaching, the Cycle of lectures by ICT experts is canceled for the summer semester.
In the subjects covered by the Cycle of Lectures, we assume that credit conditions will be adapted to the current situation.

 

The aim is primarily to enrich and supplement standard teaching, support the competitiveness of graduates on market work and further deepening of departmental cooperation with practice.

In addition to the lecture's own thematic content, participating companies can also offer students cooperation in the form of professional internships, BP or DP topics, participation in projects, etc.

The chosen target group in LS are students of the field of Informatics, as well as students of the economics and management fields of Business and Administration and Operations and Economics, 2nd years of bachelor's and 1st years of subsequent master's studies. The lectures concern the subjects Operating systems and computer networks, Operating systems and computer networks, IS security, IS/IT security, Electronic business and business, E-business and commerce, ICT for managers, IT for e-business, IT for e‑business and Strategy of IS.

Students are required to graduate at least one a professional lecture (or two, if specified in the subject) of your own choice from the given cycle (credit condition). Of course, a student can also register for more lectures. Login takes place through the forms on the wp website (see below). The cycle of lectures runs from February 26, 2020 as standard on Wednesdays from 15:45 in the DII classroom, in selected cases an auditorium is provided for the expected high interest EIII with the lecture beginning at 4:30 p.m (so 45 minutes later). The cycle runs until the end of April 2020.

IQRF mesh networks - implementation and management

Different transmission technologies can be used in IoT projects, each of which brings its own advantages. IQRF wireless mesh networks are advantageous to use in projects where it is necessary to communicate with devices in a synchronous manner.

Mesh networks are useful in situations where we need, for example, to collect measured values from sensors, lights or to control devices collectively or individually. In the workshop, we will create several physically interlocking IQRF networks on different RF channels using the AutoNetwork feature and try out some network management service tools.

SAP products play an important role in the IT world on a global scale. Škoda has been integrating these products since 1992 and currently covers most of the company's business processes.
Today, Škoda is at the forefront of implementing the latest SAP products in the Czech Republic, as evidenced by the creation of the SAP Competency Center, which provides SAP services within the Volkswagen Group. The aim of the lecture is to acquaint students with the topic of SAP and its integration in ŠA and serves as an entry point into the course Introduction to SAP.

The aim of this part of the lecture is to draw attention to risks that occur with high regularity both in the project preparation stage and in other project stages. What should the project manager pay attention to in order not only to succeed in the role, but also not to lose face and gain respect. With regard to the lecturer's focus, the role of ICT in the provision of financial loans will be additionally mentioned.
