At the prestigious\u00a0International Conference on Data Processing and Networking (ICDPN)<\/strong>\u00a0This year, the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague made a significant contribution. Assoc. Prof. Ing. Pavel \u0160imek, Ph.D. from KIT PEF \u010cZU spoke not only as\u00a0keynote speaker<\/strong>, but also gave a professional lecture focused on the use of modern sensor technologies in scientific work and higher education. The presentation also included an introduction to the European project\u00a0Agritech EU<\/strong>, which focuses on the digital transformation of agriculture and food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conference\u00a0ICDPN<\/strong>\u00a0annually brings together experts from the field\u00a0data engineering, networks, sensor technologies, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure<\/strong>. The keynote speech by Assoc. Prof. \u0160imek from KIT PEF \u010cZU focused on the topic:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his lecture, he presented how sensors, IoT technologies and data systems can be used:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • at\u00a0environmental monitoring<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • in\u00a0food production<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • even when\u00a0innovation of study programs<\/strong>, that respond to the demand for digital skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    He emphasized that sensory systems and smart devices are now an integral part of modern "smart farming" strategies and are the key to sustainable and precise production methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Introducing the Agritech EU project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The performance also included a detailed introduction to the audience about the European Agritech EU project, which involves 7 universities, 5 technology companies and 1 center of excellence with the aim of developing digital competences, innovations and technological skills in the field of smart and sustainable agriculture and universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The main objectives of the project include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Integration\u00a0IoT technologies, sensor networks, cloud services and data analytics<\/strong>\u00a0to teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Creating international courses and modules for students and the professional public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Supporting cooperation between research, universities and industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Emphasis on\u00a0sustainability, efficiency and social and environmental responsibility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
