The Department of Information Technology is again organizing a separate series of professional lectures on current topics in the field of Information and Communication Technologies in the 2024/2025 academic year. The lectures offered will be gradually available from the recording during the academic year. Out of a total of five lectures offered, two are in English. The series of lectures takes place in the 2024/2025 academic year (March to April).
The main goal is to enrich and supplement the standard teaching, support the competitiveness of graduates on the labor market and further deepen the department's cooperation with practice.
In addition to the lecture's own thematic content, participating companies can also offer students cooperation in the form of professional internships, BP or DP topics, participation in projects, etc.
The selected target group is LS students of the field of Informatics in the 2nd year of Bachelor's degree and 1st year of Master's degree. The lectures cover the subjects Operating Systems and Computer Networks, IS Security, IT for e-business and their equivalents in English.
Students are required to graduate at least one a professional lecture (or two, if specified in the course) of your own choice from the given cycle (condition for credit). Of course, the student can register for more than one lecture. Registration is done via forms on the KIT website (see below). The lecture cycle runs from March 4, 2025 as standard on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM in the TI classroom, on some dates in EIII. The cycle runs until the end of April 2025.
Registration of students for lectures will be ongoing from February 22, 2025 through the department's website.
Attendance will be recorded at the lectures!

ATTENTION! The completed lecture can be counted as part of the credit within the compulsory bachelor's practice!

In the era of rapid digitalization, cybersecurity is essential for industrial companies' environments. Where there is IT, there is a need to address IT security.
Adequate security requires a quality foundation, ie, a reliable infrastructure. Advanced monitoring tools, both building elements and network communication, should not be missing here.
In the lecture, you will learn what production networks looked like in the past and what they look like today. We will tell you about actual incidents in production and how to prevent these risks.
